FAQ

Q: Why is your price higher than stores in Chinatown?

A: Great question! Our prices reflect the strict EPA regulations in the U.S. that limit chemical use to protect public health, the environment, and long-term agricultural sustainability. These regulations result in significantly lower crop yields compared to countries with looser rules. For example, in Canada, a crop produces an average of over 4,000 pounds of dried ginseng roots per acre, compared to about 1,000 pounds for Wisconsin growers.

Today, only about 30 growers in Wisconsin still cultivate American ginseng. Over 60% of production is controlled by TongRenTang and Baumann, who export nearly all of it to China. This makes authentic Wisconsin ginseng rare and more expensive. That push many local ginseng stores in the U.S. import from Canada or Northeast China to offer lower prices.

When you buy from us, you’re supporting one of the few family-run farms left, and you’re guaranteed premium, authentic Wisconsin-grown ginseng. We truly appreciate your support!

Q: Why Hasn’t My Order Shipped Yet?

A: We strive to ship your order within one business day. However, during busy seasons when we’re overwhelmed with orders, it may take longer to prepare your shipment.

This is because we follow an on-demand processing system to ensure our ginseng roots remain fresh year-round. Our whole roots are stored in sealed, specialized containers with moisture barriers. We only open one container at a time as demand arises, trimming the prongs or slicing the roots according to our quality standards.

When we receive a higher volume of orders, this careful process can take additional time. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we prioritize quality and freshness in every order.

Q: Why do you call all your ginseng "Premium"?

A: This is because our ginseng roots are completely disease free and come from only the healthiest plants. If you find a bad root in any of our products, we will refund you with no question asked-- guaranteed.

Q: How much ginseng should I take?

A: Everybody is different and has different needs. Because of this, we, unfortunately, cannot give you a recommendation. Please talk to your doctor or physician.

Q: Do you offer Woods Grown ginseng?

A: In our opinion, most sellers on the market are misleading consumers by using the term "woods grown" to sell field cultivated ginseng with a hefty price tag. Normally people will grow ginseng in forests solely for the purpose of imitating wild ginseng! We stand by our current range of products and see no real reason to price gauge our customers simply because the crops are grown in a different environment. In short, our answer to this question is NO!

Q: Do you have Ginseng Extract?

A: Ginseng extract is usually made up of a mix of ginseng root, alcohol and distilled water. We believe that the best way to consume ginseng is the natural way without all of the additives so we do not offer ginseng extract, instead of using something diluted and processed, we suggest putting slices in water as a natural alternative.

Q: Do you have Ginseng Tea?

A: We currently don't offer tea, most of our customers enjoy putting slices in hot water with some honey or maple syrup as a more affordable and less processed alternative.

Q: I have a special request, can you help?

A: From hotel deliveries to discounts for larger orders-- we've done it all!

We will do everything we can to meet whatever request you may have.

Simply contact us at info@cwiginseng.com and we will try our best to accommodate!
